Special Day Treat 2009

This year birthday treat is a little bit more luxurious compared to the birthday celebration that I had before. This year we when to Benkay Japanese Restaurant @ Hotel Nikko in K.L. Benkay serve fresh and delicious Japanese cuisine in a contemporary atmosphere, yet, all the waitress still wearing Japanese traditional costume, kimono.
This is what we had:-

1. Appetizer {Sake Yamakake (left) and Ebi Tempura Futomaki}

2. Extra {Gindara, which means silver cod fish.}

This cod fish is grilled with tepanyaki sause. YUMMMMIIEEEE......

Besides that, we also had Ika Tempura (Fried Calamari) and Chawan Mushi (Steam egg)

3. The main meal {Cold Cha Soba (left) and Inaniwari Udon (right)}

I think I am already full before the main meal reaches my table. Maybe that is why I don't feel that there is anything special about the noodles.

It was a very memorable special day for me. Thank you for take me there, dear. I also would like to thank my dearest friends and family who remembered and wished me that day...

Career Workshop

Bengkel Pembangunan dan Perkembangan Kerjaya was held on 20th April 2009. The objective of this workshop is to give exposure to future school leavers on what career is all about. We always think that we understand what career is, however, the understanding of what career is in the field of psychology is far deeper than the common thinking.

As a member of the committee, there is much to give than take. Time, money, other resources, cooperation between members and the spirits that we have is a challenge for every member. Though the workshop runs according to plan, but I do not feel that it was a successful one. However, I found out one very important thing during this workshop from the participants, that is, career is not an important part of what students or teenagers nowadays concern about. Some of them does not even have an ambition and have no idea on what their future are. This is a very critical symptom as they might just simply choose a career and regret at the end of the day. At the same time, being an unproductive as well as unmotivated worker, and having higher potential of facing emotional and self conflict.

Therefore, every one of us (parents, uncles, aunties, brothers, sisters, and friends) has an important role to play. The most basic thing we can do is:
1. Expose more occupation roles to children starting from age 3; play with them and let them fantasy that they are, e.g. doctors, hairdresser, chef, etc.
2. Encourage children to have higher ambitions; don’t force them just to study hard, they must know why they are studying for.
3. Support them to find school counsellors as counsellors may possibly have more information on career market and able to discover hidden personality that we might not discover in the child.
I tried to get the pictures regarding to the workshop, yet, unable to contact the person in charge. Nevertheless, will try and upload once I obtain the pictures.

Meanwhile, ENJOY WORKING!!
